Southeast DIY Hog hunt

Anyone ever done one in alabama, Mississippi, Florida or Georgia? Been reading a lot and thinking of trying to go hunt some WMA land in alabama.

Do a search on wma land in northern alabama. buddy of mine went no dogs a killed 5 in a single weekend. black wolf wma or something similar. they claim there are tons of hogs there.

I spoke with a biologist who said their last population density study showed they had more hogs per acre than squirrels. I'd like to think he was joking but I'm beginning to think maybe he wasn't. He also said there's only two types of land, "Land that has hogs and land that will have hogs."


Isn't there something in the regs concerning Blackwarrior or Bankhead that restricts you to rimfire or shotgun only?

out of state rage aren't bad if I remember. around $250-$300 for a year long permit. I am only about 4.5 hours from Blackwarrior/Bankhead NF. Wish I could hook up with someone who knew the area and I would make a trip this fall. if not, it may have to wait till grad school is over.....in 22 months!!!! ugh....

Bankhead is open year round to hogs. Black warrior special hog season starts monday (9/1-9/13). I think it will cost around 150 bucks for all out of state licenses (i think that's the two week price).
