Sweet!!! I have a similar paratrooper model but running the factory mag and stripper clips. I love that little gun!
 
Those are 7.62x39 if I remember correctly. That's a cool little rifle, if only they could talk.

IMG_4595.jpegThe bad thing about that set up, it has to be removed to work the front takedown lever. And it required a BUNCH of fitting work. However, it seems like they also offered a longer rail for a scout scope at that time. But that's been probably 10 years ago. So, who knows?

My paratrooper model has a side rail. BUT, a scope would be in the way of using stripper clips for loading. So I just use the irons on it.

I've heard those won't hold zero for crap. I've never tried one myself though.
The biggest problem is that you can only use a very short compact scope. The SKS ejects it's empty cases straight up from the receiver. If your scope extends over that portion of the receiver it will beat your scope to death, seriously. At one time they made a replacement dust cover type scope mounting system that had four set screws, one at Each corner. It stayed pretty solid.
