Thanks for all the interest and responses everyone, I appreciate it.

I believe the boat is priced fairly (if anything, a bit on the low side), and I'm praying it goes to the right person who'll get good use out of it. I've hunted and fished out of it plenty, and it's been extremely reliable. It'll go most anywhere a kayak can - just faster and with a lot more capacity. Took it 2 hours to J. Percy Priest just a couple weeks ago (no fish made it in the boat that trip lol- didn't say I fished well).

For reference, here's how I value everything:

  • Boat & trailer - $600 (pre-COVID)
  • Outboard - $1,000
  • Lowrance HDS5 w/ GPS - $200
  • New tires & wheels - $200
All for the low price of $1200!

This is a setup I trust, and I'm confident the next owner will too. Registration is good through 2027, and I have the TWRA cards in hand.

I'm happy to do a water test for serious buyers. I'd prefer to keep this off Facebook for now, so I'll leave it posted here a few more days.

There's been a lot of interest already- don't miss out. Thanks for looking!

That is a floating tank, I had one for years as a hunting boat with that same motor! It was indestructible! I ran all over the lakes and rivers around here and felt safe. If I needed a boat/motor I'd break my arm getting my wallet out so fast!

What is max hp rating?
he 1960s Alumacraft Model FD 14-foot aluminum boat is a classic, lightweight fishing boat (often ~130 lbs) known for its durability, featuring a flat-bottom hull, front deck, and popular use in restoration projects. These vintage boats, often found from the late 1950s/60s, are rated for small outboards (often 10–18 HP), feature longitudinal or cross-bench bracing, and are highly regarded for shallow-water, versatile fishing
I have a 25 on mine. To much! 18 to 20 should be perfect.

Thanks! This is a 1974 alumacraft so I'm sure it's very similar. It's lasted this long because they're just built so strong. Probably going to have the wife list it (for more) on Facebook soon.

When I was in my 20s me and all my duck hunting buddies had these boats with 25 hp outboards. Mine was a 1972 model. You could jump beaver dams and get into places others couldn't. Great boats.
