when you take a soil sample to have it tested, do you take lot samples from over the whole food plot, or do I just get some dirt from the center?

Complete soil tests are best, but if you are on a tight budget I liked my experience with the Antler King pH test. As we all know, getting the pH right is your first step. I used the Antler King test on one of my new plots and was able to determine my lime requirements and get the lime spread. I am going to plant Winter Wheat this fall and then get a full soil sample (to include fertilization requirements) in the spring. This will give time for the lime to do its business.
