A 1.5 old 6 or 7 pointer strolled by at 10 yards. Let him pass.

Watched a coyote for 15 minutes and took a crossbow shot at about 35 yards. Don't know if I hit him yet, but I'm gonna check when I leave.

Had a doe come in before daylight. 20 yards, pull the trigger and nothing but smoke, no kick. Never had that happen before. Barrel must have had moisture in it from cleaning it last night. Lesson learned.

Missed that coyote. Saw two little bucks in another field about 200 yards away as I was leaving. Nice morning.

Had a small doe and a little 2" spike keep me company after daylight. They stayed around me for 30 minutes or so. Two good does ran by a hour ago. I didnt have a shot. A young deer ran circles around me 30 minutes ago. A good bodied buck with a poor rack walked by a few minutes ago. I couldnt get a shot at him either. Ohh I've seen 3 turkey also. All these trees are working against me as far as getting a shot goes. Maybe a opportunity will appear soon.

Saw a young 8 pt following a doe at about 6:30 thats about it besides some squirrels. About got sea sick from my stand swaying with the wind.

I haven't see anything but squirrels. I did hear 14 shots so far, 13 of them was between daylight and 7 with the last one around 8:30 and nothing but wind since!

I struck out. Had a beagle sniffing and howling around for about an hour near my stand. Annoying as hell. My Uncle missed a doe early and then connected on a spike late in the morning. Darn thing ran about 200 yards and piled up 5 yards from my stand. I was about to shoot at it when it dropped. I guess that's how it goes!
