Snow in the CO mountains

In some of the Colorado high country , they are expecting the first snow for the year. They are even closing trail ridge road for a few days in the RMNP.

Hopefully this trend will continue, at least till i get my elk. More snow up high will hopefully push the elk down lower :super:

I have just over a month til the 2nd season. I would love some good snow and cold weather for it.

It was 72 degrees when I checked the weather for Craig, Co. this afternoon. 53 degrees in Powell Wyoming where I plan to retire.

Hopefully we get into camp for 2nd season and it snows like a mother clucker.

Headed out Wed for remaining of archery season, looks like a stretch of 30-60's in Tampa. Hopefully a bit cooler higher up.

It has snowed on us several times 2nd week of September during archery elk in the areas of Meeker and Clark.

I've been here since late July. Was up in oak creek near Yampa last week and the weather report wasn't right. We had low 40s in the mornings. Real nice all this week. My high country spot has been saying low 30s and that's about 10,500 ft

Still here in Colorado. Hot near parachute but flew to grand mesa today not too bad maybe 75. Will give a report after this weekend but was nice and cool Saturday at elevation.

I've been back here in Mem for the last few days enjoying these record high days.. I'm ready to get back to CO next week

I hear ya. Today is my last day at work. Have a Wyoming tag in October thinking about chasing elk for the next few days. I know where some are but they are difficult to get to and I do t know if u can get meat out in time by myself. Idk about the snow But temps should be nice for the next couple of weeks.

I have been checking the web cam for powderhorn resort every day. It seems to be around 40 every morning. Headed to Grand Mesa for first rifle. Hopefully the temps come down before then
