Could anyone please give method to get a skunk out of a live trap without getting sprayed?

Take a tarp and cover it up, just talk to it as you walk up to it and just lay it across it then carefully move it . I've done it numerous times and never been sprayed.

Yes, I've had great luck doing it this way also. More than 10 times it worked perfectly. Then there was the 1 that sprayed my pant leg as I (over-confidently) carried the trap...

Not too hard. Just do as recommended. I take a large garbage bag and hold it in front of me as I approach the trap and then slowly cover the trap. The skunk doesn't get as alarmed with the trap covered. Depending on how you plan on getting rid of the skunk after that may be tricky. If you shoot or drown it not too bad but if you're opening the trap to release it it can get dicey.

I've had luck doing the same. Except I let it sit in there all day. They seem to hate sunlight and ball up. Usually they're not nearly as fired up after all day in that trap.

Next time you could put the live trap inside a large construction trash bag leaving the entrance of the trap open. When the trap door is tripped with the skunk inside and the trap in the bag it should be covered so the skunk can't see you and you can't be sprayed.
