Mine is a LOT messier than Mr. Big's, though at least I don;t have a Christmas Tree under mine!

I have my press and powder measure mounted on a board similar to 44fanatic's. I keep my scale in the original box, my dies and bullets on a bookshelf, my powders on a different bookshelf, and all the misc tools, lubs, etc in a moisture-proof box that goes on a shelf with the press-board. When it's time to load some shells, I clear off a space on the table in my office, clamp down the press, and bring out only the powder and bullets I'll be using for that load. That way I don't accidentally load the wrong components.

Lee Challenger press anniversery kit goes for $91 new at midway, second press around $30 ($120 total)

Tumbler...my guess is around $50

Dies go for around $25-35 apiece ...6 die sets at $150 total (easy math)

Factory crimp dies $16 new...figure $45 for all three

Work bench...my guess is $200 new

Total new for the hardware: $570....gettin it used at 50% $285...

Looks to be about $160 for the powder if full...bullets figure about $25 per 100....

I would say...its a deal if most of the powder and a couple thousand primers are there

Unless it was you, someone else asked the same question on TGO.

That was me on TGO. I have the $$$ for the Dillion 550 (late Christmas present from my wife)(just haven't pulled the trigger on the purchase) so don't really need the stuff mentioned above but thought if it was a better deal then I might go that route. Figured I was going to load .40 .45 anyway and have .223 rifle and .22-250 rifle. I just don't know if I want to get into reloading and thought the craigslist deal had everything I needed and I wouldn't have to buy anything more if I wasn't into it.

Then again it might end up costing me more if I like reloading and go buy the 4 stage press after the fact.

Why do people get into reloading?

I figured I would do it as a hobby and if I saved a few bucks along the way cool.

Thanks for the info.

Ha! funny that some of our set ups look in similar state of disarray

I took some before and after pics after I organized my table this evening. Now I probably will have trouble for sure finding stuff.

Anyway my table is 4X4 wide. Made out of 3/8 angle steel legs and frame, the top is 1/4" plate steel. I threw a piece of 3/4" plywood because the table was getting rusty and hard to sweep off. Kinda worried about sparks too, lol.

I got the table from Trane Corp or $1 on a 'scrap ticket' years ago. Probably cost a fortune to make one like it today. I had to go beefy on the table. When I used to resize 7MM Rem Mag, my press action would walk a wooden table all over the garage. Then one day I completely broke a notch out of that wooden table. I don't see how some of you guys do that mounting to momma's kitchen table business. Especially after my experience.

The Weatherhead drawers come out of NAPA auto parts that folded years ago. Used to have them little brass nipples/fittings in there. That was give to me just for asking one day when the store was going out of business. I have 2 more for nuts and bolts in the other garage.

As you might notice, I really need to geek up my reloading set up. The hand crank trimmer has got to go. I'm using my son's rock tumbler for polishing brass :D

anyway-cheers

Gotta laugh at that Leon. I do most of my reloading out in the garage but my work bench is such a mess right now (everything but reloading stuff) I had to take my pic in the house to keep from embarrasing myself.

But, what is more amazing is....................I bet we all know exactly where everything is. LOL

skynimrod, Ive seen that setup before. Have you posted on other reloading forums or was it here on TNDeer.
Yea I posted that pic awhile back on here.
I have since redone it a little and have more to show. I will take some more pics and post up the man cave.

Hillbilly Hunter has the indespensible thing...that little white iPod on the speakers. I love listening to the tunes while preping and trimming the cases.

LOL....this is a big request. I've got reloading things scattered everywhere. I trimmed it down to 4 main pictures.
Here's the press and the portable box I use most of the time on the kitchen counter.

This box holds all the small tools necessary such as pocket reamers, Allen wrenches, screwdriver, lube, caliper, micrometer, etc..

Here's a lot of junk in my storage cabinet that holds just about everything....what a mess!

Here's my powder storage cabinet that holds only open cans of powder currently being used. I have bulk storage of commonly used powders elsewhere.

I didn't know how disorganized I was until you asked this question. I'm all over the place.

Thanks to all for the pics.

DA - how does the bench hold up to downward pressure when using the press? Yours is a single stage correct?

Hillbilly - is that a 4+ stange press? Looks like you have a second turrett set up already?

What are the pros/cons of each type? What do you guys load?

Thanks.

That is a LEE 4 hole turret press. I have a turret for each caliber. Once I have the dies set I take the turret out of the press and pop which ever caliber I need in. I don't have to set my dies back up again.

My problem is multiple rifles...all with different throats....many in the same calibers. The quick interchange would be nice but I would have to have separate dies for each rifle. It would sure be nice to be wealthy enough to buy a set of dies for each individual rifle but I've not been there yet.
