I have used Fedex and UPS.

I do know that satellite UPS stores won't ship ammo or firearms. The local one is a bunch of babies several store employees ran to a back room when they saw the ammunition patch on my box. You have to use a UPS-owned location, generally some kind of warehouse. There they treat you correctly.

I live quite near a Fedex location that never gives me trouble at all.

Did you have it insured ?

Yep. They eventually found it about a week and a half later, so the new owner finally got it. It was on track until the day before it was supposed to be delivered, then got "lost". Very stressful week and a half. Never again.

The good news is that the new owner likes it. Given what's happened since then, my bet is that he's already sold it for 150% of what I sold it to him for.
