Shaming skills

I should have already posted this with muzzleloader going and gun season fixing to start but better late than never.
We should brush up on our shaming skills for when a kid or new hunter posts a pic of a 6 pointer or maybe a spike that he/she is proud of, that we make them feel like crap cause it doesn't measure up to today's internet standards.

Stuff like "was he really on your hit list" or "his G2's are nothing", "mass is a little weak'', maybe "why did you shoot him? you should have given him a couple more years", that kind of thing.

Or maybe the old standby, " If I shot one that small I wouldn't want anyone to know".

Hunting has moved on from the silly days of just having fun,shooting what you want and not giving a flip what anybody thinks,nowadays it's hero pics,facebook famousness and measurements! Now get with it!

I never thought that was a problem on TNdeer. I can't recall anyone here "shaming" anyone (except maybe one very recently for hunting methods, not size of kills). Not sure where this is coming from. This is a pretty good group.

Yeah....I haven't seen any buck shaming on TnDeer? And hope I never do...personally try to congratulate anyone who post a kill pick. Buck or Doe....Certainly want to encourage the kids and first timers.
Honestly....if anybody catches heck around here its those who let "good" bucks walk...or if you hunt from a shooting house over a food plot...Lol....but i certainly agree with you...we should celebrate the success of our fellow hunters.

Except for shaming those who kill pet deer and pretend that makes them a great hunter worthy of adulation.

Only shaming I recall recently was about a deer that someone killed the necks year. Think that was all in good fun though.

Shaming someone for the deer they kill is beyond senseless. Luckily it doesn't it happen here most likely wouldn't be tolerated.

Shamers should be viciously shamed. All deer are made of venison and venison tastes good.

People who give anyone crap over the deer they killed should promptly be told where they can shove a set of basket rack 6 pt antlers.

I guess I've missed something I haven't seen anyone shamed on this site. Even on Facebook I really only see it on outlandish post, and not many if any there. On the tn deer pages.

Or "where's your blaze orange" comments. There are scenarios where someone might pose for a pic with a deer and not have on their blaze orange.

It's like the class tattle tale that wants to be noticed as virtuous on an Internet forum.

Kill what makes you happy. Envy no one, worst part of hunting are the ones that are jealous of others success. I learned a long time ago that if it's going to happen it's going to happen. Stay positive and focused on what you are doing and forget what others think about it.

The only shaming is when you shame yourself for killing a buck you consider unworthy. That's unworthy!
