Ok, I've enjoyed hunting so far this season, but it has been frustrating. I've not had the success (kills) I anticipated after a very slow season last year. To date, I've only taken one lone doe (october4) and blew s chance at a nice buck second weekend of MZ. I don't hunt each weekend, but usually at least two weekends a month - sometimes more and some less. I try to hunt based on the weather until the rut gets going. Well this weekend may be my last hurrah for the season - at least on my lease. Having some financial issues and that is leading to other issues at home. So with that, I plan to try to get some more meat this weekend and call it a season regardless and hopefully the good Lord will smile on me/us again in the near future. Thanks for listening.

Good luck, I'm looking forward to about the last two weeks of the season, that's when I can normally catch the nicer bucks coming back in fields

Best advice for future years if you have limited hunting time.... hunt consecutive days a week apart right during the immediate prerut and rut regardless of the weather. Quit hunting for a month, then go back 28 days later and repeat the process. You will find the number of deer you kill per hour hunted will increase tremendously. Plus, you won't be frustrated by this point in the season. On my farms in TN, hunting is usually terrible right now. But it will pick back up and get pretty decent in another week and a half.
