Blessed this morning with my second gobbler to put a end to this season!Got in the woods this morning before daylight to listen for a gobble but heard nothing except birds chirping to wake up the woods .Walked down the ridge and did some lite yelping but nothing answered.Decided to head down a ridge I hadn't hunted but struck out there also.I went to another farm and walked back a ridge but didn't hear anything so I decided to send out a few lite yelps, this place had been hunted the first three days of the season.I thought I would only call very sparanly and set for around a hour before I headed home.Heard a gobbler yelp to my left and saw two coming in full strut,I shot the one in front.I bought a new Mossberg 20 gauge this spring and killed both birds with it using tss shells.I would have killed both with just regular Longbeard shells because they were very close shots,20 to 25 yards.Im kinda sad that my season has eñded but very thankful to the good Lord that he put two gobblers in my lap.
He weighed 22 lbs with 9 inch beard, spurs about a inch.
