I always warm/heat them back up to dry them out & then add a mist of olive oil & wipe it to coat evenly .I have 1 that I fry bacon & sausage in & then make gravy, it wont keep a nice coat on it due to bringing gravy to a boil, oh well it gets the same treatment in order to keep it from rusting. Avoid animal oils & heavy coats of oil as it will turn rancid with out using it often. Lodge makes good products
