Does anyone on here use any Scout style scopes? I bought a gunsite scout and am debating on running one. I have never used a long eye relief style scope and was wanting some feedback from you guys that have.

Thank you in advance.

Mike

I tried one on a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54 and it worked good as long as the cheap POS scope base would stay tight. But, a good quality long eye relief scope is great for some setups and uses. I've been meaning to try another better base on one of my Mosins.

I was going to put a scout on my 1895 but decided not to due to limited use and the cons of a scout scope. Also it does go with the intended use of my rifle. Do some research before you buy, you may find it fits your intended use of the rifle.

the only reason I would use a scout scope is if I needed to load the rifle from the top,,in case of the Ruger Gunsite Scout and it`s use of the AI magazines I would mount a normal rifle scope in the bullet proof Ruger rings,,if I was gonna use a scope,,if/when I get one of those rifles I plan to use the peep sight,,

My son bought a Ruger Gunsight .308 and put a Burris Scout Scope, 2x-7x on it. I was a bit skeptical at first but after the first range trip I have to tell you I was impressed. That is a wonderful rifle and scope combo and love the two eyes open sight picture with the forward mounted scope.

i bil had one with the forward mounted scope. loved the rifle hated the scope. i bought a scout rifle but put a conquest on it,
