Scott County Updates

After the terrible EHD epidemic of 2017, what are those that hunt in Scott County seeing in terms of recovery over these last two years. I hunt in the southern part of the county between Brimstone and Wolf Creeks. The herd in this area seems to be slowly growing. What about your areas?

Starting to see some on the trail cams. I was worried at first due to lack of sign this summer. Deer are there, just not pre-EHD levels yet. That will take a few years.

I have hunted on this same property for twenty-two years. There was an EHD outbreak in '07 but not nearly as severe. The deer numbers bounced back rapidly then. Now, I agree with you. It will take several years.

At the house I have not seen a single deer in two years, but at my hunting land, I have a small heard of does now and several Buck's. It is only a few minutes from my house. Good luck this season.
