I've got $330 for a new scope.Gonna put it on my savage/pacnor muzzy.I've had my eye on the Minox ZA-5 3-15x42 for a while now,but I'm getting mixed reviews on them.I really want the extra magnification so it can help shrink my groups even more.Any other scopes I should look at? I know $330 isn't alot of money to spend on a scope, but its alot of money to me.So this is kinda a big purchase.

id take clarity of magnification any day

find a used zeiss 325 bucks

I have Minox scopes and binocs but my Ho to are Zeiss.

I agree with above although Minox are good....

Personally I'd scratch the added magnification and go for higher clarity and low light performance. I can understand wanting to help with your groups but thats paper, not deer. A scope that snines in low light conditions is what will help when shooting at game. As Deer Assassin suggested, keep an eye out for a good used Zeiss. You might even luck up and find one with a little higher magnification.

The Minox scope is an excellent scope. I have 2 of them and can honestly say that the Minox has better resolution and better contrast of darker colors in low light than the Zeiss Conquest. The Conquest is an awesome scope as well, but you can definitely see a difference.

x 2

Not to say that those Minox scopes aren't great, but maybe go with one that Z-5 2-10 x 40 instead?

Keep in mind you can have a greater handicap at 20 yards with too much magnification than a handicap at 200 yards with too little. And 10x brings the appearance of 200 yards down to 20 yards. More magnification serves little purpose other than handicapping you at close range.

Where's Mr. Big when you need an expert opinion on such a subject? :D

I got the same Minox you are lookin at on my Savage mzl. Although I have not hunted with it yet, I like it so far. I also hsve 2 zeiss that I have on deer rifles I can tell difference but there is also a difference in price. I would reccomend the Minox. Hope this helps. Not to confuse you but
I do think the zeiss is the superior scope.
