Scope recommendations

Marlin 336 30/30 20 barrel

I got a 3x9x40 on rifle but feel it's to bulky, looking for y'all thoughts on something in the 2x7x33 range.

If your wanting something smaller I would look at a nice fixed 4 power scope.

If you want something small/compact why not try a red dot? Plenty accurate out to 30-30 ranges

Tried one on my m-30 love it for close range but my eye sight isn't good .

That's what I was looking at but which model did you go with?
I wanted to try a vx-r but it's 30mm , I have a 1" Dnz one piece scope mount I wanted to use.

I feel like the 2-7 is perfect for a lever gun.

I have a 2-7X33 Redfield Revolution on my 45-70 Henry rifle. That size scope is a good fit...not too bulky and providing a good range of magnification.

Be careful to keep the mounting position as low as possible otherwise the comb height will be to low.

Agree....I ended up using Warne m864 bases along with a set of low rings to get a more comfortable cheek purchase on the stock with the scope.

I wanted to try a vx-r but it's 30mm , I have a 1" Dnz one piece scope mount I wanted to use.

Mine is a Vx1. i'm wanting to say it was like $150ish.

The above Redfield is another solid choice IMO. I have mine in a 1 piece DNZ mount.

I looked at that same scope before buying the Redfield. The optics were nice. Just had more experience with the Redfield Revolution line. It was a hard choice between the two though.

I just ordered these for my marlin 336 Texan, specifically for deer and hogs.

I use a 336 30-30 also. Thing kicks like a damned mule doesn't it? Good thread because I'm also looking to replace my scope.

Ask Stalk Hunter about red dot and fields,50y maz would be my best guess

1.5 x4 or 5 works well on em.. compacts do as well.
