I have a cva accura lrx I got on here just because I always wanted a muzzleloader. Don't know if I'll ever hunt with it, but for now its a play thing. It came with a peep sight, which I can't use cause of my old eyes. I want to get a scope for it but not sure what to get. Don't want to spend a lot since I may not even keep the gun. I can get a new vortex viper HS 2.5 x 10 44mm for $250, its the older model. Or should I just go up to $350 and get a leupold freedom. Want to try and recoup some of the money if down the road I decide to sell the set up. Any comments is welcome.

You won't go wrong with either. Midway USA has the new Vortex viper 2.5-10x44 for 250 and tax. Free shipping. I have a couple and they have been clear, dependable scopes. Leupold has the name and stands behind their products as well, put either in a good solid set of Warne rings (steel ones, not the aluminum) on a one piece Cva base and you're set.

I had a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 on mine and have their inline 3-9x40 on my wife's. Cva just replaced my v2 with an mrx and i haven't put my scope back on it yet.

If I were buying a new scope for one, I'd look at burris. Their fullfield II line is hard to beat for the money and they do offer graduated reticles. I like a 3-9 here, where my shots range from archery range to about 200 yards.

I got a few Japan made Bushnell Elites listed if those interest you.
