Scope Q?...#2

The scope I acquired lately has an adjustable front (farthest from my eye) that can be adjusted for different yardages. What is this for? Its a Bushnell if that matters.

Thanks DA. I didnt understand all the technical jargon but got the point. What's a paralax? How would this be a benefit? If I'm not moving my head when I aim then whats it matter? I really dont know much as you can tell.

If your parallax is not set right then having your eye off center when you look through the scope will change your impact. It's hard to get your eye exactly the same relation to the scope from shot to shot, especially when shooting from different positions.
If the parallax is set right, then it won't matter if your eye is a little off center one way or another.
Most rimfire scopes are set at 50yds and centerfire rifle scopes at around 100 yds. Adjustable ones let you set it for whatever range you want.

Wow! that is pretty neat. Never knew that and it sounds pretty important.
