Went and checked the farm last Friday. Pears and crabapples are bearing fruit already althought the jap beetles are hammering my dolgo's. I checked my sawtooth oaks and they have several acorns! They are only 6-7ft and about an inch caliper. Are they not too young???? Has anyone else seen they bear early in age like this?

I wish mine were that tall. Like I said they are not the best looking trees, nor nearly that tall. But that being said they have several little acorns on them.

FH how big were your trees when you planted them?

5 foot or so,but keep in mind, they are my number one hobby, first thing I do every time I go is check my trees, spray em with 7 dust or neem oil,NO,competition from weeds and grasses,NONE.Ive spent entire days watering them, hauling water back and forth from the river,IM 43,Im doing all I can to get em going, not so concerned with killing deer around em,just wanna see em produce.Feel like a great accomplishment,I think.

BTW ,bought out Old Hickory Home Depot yesterday of pears, had em marked down to $4.99 :)
