Savage Edge 270 Camo

Bought my first rifle Black Friday 2011. Ended up paying like $300 for the gun and it included a no-name 3-9X40 scope. The guys @ Dicks bore sighted and I shot it that same day. Decent groups @ 100. Killed a 7 point the next day @ 80, dropped him right away. I also doubled two doe close to season end.

Went to the range last Saturday to try out my buddy's new MP40. Decided to squeeze some rounds out of the Savage.

Needless to say I am very happy with my Savage. Glad someone steered me away from a Remington 770 I was looking at.

I just bought an Axis(newer version of the Edge) in 22-250 and was bustin bottles at 100 within 6 shots out of the box. For the money I dont think you can beat em.

My buddy was with me when we sighted mine the other day. He was foamin at the mouth after seeing the results. He just bought a Rem 770 7mag last year and is now regretting it.

Sales guy showed me that you can insert the magazine backward on a 770. He said for starters you don't want a gun that will do that. Also I've heard of people having issues with bolt sticking and problems zeroing in the 770.

well shoot if your in rutherford we need to get together and i will buy the bullets if you will let me shoot it, i am in mboro.

Well I got pelee's number I will shoot him a text and we will get together I have a couple of new ones and couple on there way between this week and next, I really want throw some lead.

Terry Walden Range on Model Rd. Nice range, hassle free - everyone there is super cool.

Is there a membership or range fee? What is the longest distance?

I have been driving about an hour to Viola to shoot my rifles.... didn't even know there was a range in Coffee County besides the one at AEDC (have to be a member).

$5 to shoot no membership needed with plenty of lanes. 300 yards is the longest distance. There is a pistol range right next to the rifle range. He has a gunsmith shop with some ammo & gear. Really enjoy going there. No crowds and everyone I've met there has been friendly.

For the range in Manchester, if it has rained in the past week, you will need to bring a boat or waders at least to put a target out at 300
but 200 is do-able just a little muddy.
