If you were drew will they mail you your tags or do you have to print them off yourself

Don't mean to drag up an old thread, but since there is the app-based check-in (to which I assume "tag before you drag" rules apply), I was wondering if there was somewhere to write the identification test code in the process of checking it in on the app? Or must you print the e-mail?

Can I literally scrawl it on a digital picture of my tag using a doodle software and save it?
