I think somebody around here asked about "Deals" on Sako's recentaly,Bass Pro Shops has the A-7's on cleareance @ 599$$

The flyer I got listed 270 and 06 the Servirville store did have them an a few 243 308's on the racks. This was tuesday evening got the flyer wed,no ideal if they have other calibers or if there all out on display but they have been trying to move these for a good while now just cut the price on down.

Did you see the Model 70 all weather while you were there Tiny? They had one on the rack for $949 I believe.

Just get ya a Tikka t-3 I was stoked when I heard about the A-7's being a Sako/Tikka nut,but they are 95% the same, other than cosmetics, only thing different is the boltface is more like an 85.

And you can load from the top, unlike the Tikka.

Plastic Handles ???? Stock seems the same other than cosmetics, maybe we are looking at different guns ?

The Sako A7 has a very cheap stock. I can take my index finger and thumb and pinch the buttstock and the stock will flex. It is not a rigid stock at all.

No one I have talked to has ever liked the Tikka synthetic stock. If they had just spent a little more and put a descent one on it, it would have been a bigger hit than it has been.

Great rifle, terrible synthetic stock.

I like/LOVE my Tikka. For $300 my Tikka stainless feels just fine. So does my wallet. Grouped inside of a nickel at 100 yds.

I'm thinking about pulling the recoil pad off of my LH T3 and filling the butt end of the stock with bondo. I know it would add some weight, but I didn't get it because it was light and I don't have long carries to where I hunt anyway. I think it would help the stiffness of the stock a lot and probably balance it out better too.

It would be nice if there were some aftermarket stocks available, but even if there were they probably wouldn't make them in LH versions.

Here's a funny thing just wanted to add in here. I took the syn. stock off my Tikka and sent it to Boyd's so they could inlet a Walnut one for me.When I talked with the engineer/stock maker on the phone he said,"This is one of the better factory syn. stocks he had seen in a long time". So here's a company that goes through 100's of stocks in a month, saying this.I'm sure he doesn't know what he's saying though.;o) I'm kinda a Walnut freak anyway.

I'm not trying to offend, it may be made well, I just don't like them. I don't like short women either, although I've met a few that were EXTREMELY well made :o . To each his own.
