i saw a small four or five point this morning alone and not apparently looking for anything other than an acorn.....

Later, amidst a butt load of does all morning long, I kept seeing the same spike running around like he was about to fall out. His tongue was hanging out at one point.....

Early chasing doesn't necessarily mean the big boys are up and rutting , so when do ya'll think the real rut is going to hit this season????

It already has around Nashville, and will slowly work it's way east, south and west, just like every year.

Already seeing the mature bucks on their feet during daylight here! A lil early this yr but not too much!

so anytime this week it should be getting HOTTER...??? It's best be in the stand as much as possible from here on out???

thanks so much...

Oldest bucks are most often on their feet during daylight in the last 10 days before peak breeding starts, whenever that is for your location.

We are usually 2 weeks behind middle tennessee. Should be hot in our area around Nov. 20th. About right for our rut, just a tad early imo

I'm expecting our chasing phase to move in to the estrous chasing phase this week. The 7pt I shot Monday was hot trailing a doe that still had to little ones with her. I'd say it's right on top of us in my neck of the woods. Oh, and by comparison, it seems to be about a week, to a week and half earlier this season than in seasons past. But, our buck sign appeared as usual, the opening day of ML season. ;)

Yesterday evening watch 2 doe rub there hind legs together while they were peeing. does this mean they are comeing into heat?
