Rookie plot question

I've got turnips mixed in with oats and rye. The oats/rye have been nibbled on pretty good but not the turnips. Is this common at this point in the season?

Planted turnips few years ago, deer didn't touch them....haven't planted them since then

Yes, turnips need a few frosts to sweeten them. In my area of the Cumberland Plateau that time is late November through January. Deer will hit them hardest during that time.

Wait until later in the fall/winter........they will hammer them.
