I shot a buck this morning that didn't score our minimum and didn't age 4.5 either. It happened so fast that I didn't get a good look at him. He had tall white antlers and was traveling away in tall brown grass which made his antlers really stand out. He was a good buck but lacked mass. I know better than to judge a buck going away. Got more freezer meat, a couple of fresh tarsal glands, and a new set of rattling antlers...and I finally got to see the first chasing going on. I didn't see any last year at all. It was good for the heart, lol. Onward and upward...

A fine. I can't complain. I pulled the trigger and knew the rules. Bet it doesn't happen again.

I'm really liking those AccuBond bullets.

Dang Mike! Serve any time over that violation? :D First the "leaving the gun behind" thing, now this? Your season us just going to heck! :D You know I'm just ribbing ya buddy, congrats on connecting on a good buck, regardless the circumstances! ;)

I'm good for another buck. I've read posts on here about people apologizing for the buck they killed so I just want to say I take nothing away from mine. He was a pretty buck and I'm not disappointed in him at all. My only disappointment is in my lack of judgment.

Mup...Yep, stacking up this season with minor irritations. Yesterday day morning just as it got light enough to see a guy walked in and sat down 50 yards from my tree. He finally saw me and left. Twice before that I went in to my stand and had someone sitting on the ground right on top of my stand. Then one morning there were 3 of us in trees in a 100 yard triangle. In the past 8 years that hasn't happened but once. You'd think I was on a small parcel of public land. When you're only allowed 2 stands and they are miles apart it's aggravating to go in 2 miles to your stand in the dark only to have someone sitting on the ground almost under your stand shining you off. Now what you going to do? A 140"+ and a few more does would help to ease the pain of this season so far, lol.

I don't know. We have quite a few new members doing a lot of walking and looking around????? I also suppose when you have an area you like hunting and another member decides to expand his knowledge of the available hunting areas it's possible it just might be where you're hunting. It just seems like it's hit all at once. After this weekend it ought to settle down a little with people going back to work.

I mostly stay in the woods. Unless I have a deer to check in I usually don't go up to the checking station so I miss whatever goes on there. I haven't heard anything out of the ordinary.
