I am planning a hunt in Roane County for this next fall. I live and spend most of my time in a tree in West Tenn. so the hills may be a challenge. My question is for those who live and hunt Roane County. I have an Aunt & Uncle who live near Kingsport. Would anyone share a little info. on the hunting there. Not asking for your "honey hole " just what parts of the county is best and which is best, woods, ridges, or what. I don't figure on much row crop, but then again, I don't know what to expect. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

lots of people hunting not enough area to hunt.but kingsport is in sullivan county not roane.

Kingsport is a long way from Roane county. Perhaps you mean Kingston. There is not much public land in Roane County. There is Mt. Roosevelt, which is partly in Roane county, but classified with the Cumberland county hunting seasons. I think it is hunted pretty heavy, though I have never hunted it, so I don't know that for sure.

Sorry Gentleman, I was tired and auto correct I guess don't work with town names. !!! I do mean Kingston. I'll own the mistake. Anyway any help would still be greatly appreciated. My Uncle has secured me a coupl adjoining farms to spend some time. He has done survey work there for many years. Just wondering if it's worth the drive.

If you already have a couple of farms, yes it is definitely worth driving to look at and see.there is some good bucks killed in Roane County every year.

Last time I checked the Hunter's Toolbox Roane county had more deer killed this year than Rhea co. I've almost killed 2 since the season ended driving home from work....:)

One of the reasons I want to try is that it will be a bonus for me. Different unit than where I live and hunt. I guess if nothing else, new and different terrain to hunt. Everybody here tells me that their legs are shorter on one side. LOL !!
