I was looking at "Truegunvalue" website with regards to value of gun(s) I am considering to sale. I do not know if this particular website is reputable or not....buy anyway it stated the value of a 35 Marlin 336 RC was valued on average new 816.42 and 797.65 used. Are you kidding me? So, apparently they must know what they are talking about. I found a 1953 Marlin 35 336 RC for sale on "GunsAmerica" for $899.00. I would appreciate your opinion. Not trying to sale from this post...no worries.

Like with the housing market these days, chances are good you can sell a gun above its "fair" value right now. Maybe not to the extent of a few months ago, but market value is often higher…with the exception of one thread on here for a lever gun a few months ago.

Best thing I can tell you is look at auction sites like gunbroker and see what closed auctions have actually sold for. The ones for sale with no bids are no help usually, because those are typically over priced or very niche.

Thanks for your response. Great point. However, I have done this and all are not auctions. the one I referenced is not "up for bid" or an auction. Additionally, numerous only reflect that the gun has sold and does not reveal the amount it was sold for. Thanks again.

unreal. thank you

A few years ago that rifle could be bought for 400-450 bucks if it was in great shape.

700-800 is about the going rate now, especially JM stamped rifles.
