Replacing fishing rod eyelet...

I have a Berkley rod..not a real expensive one but a good one. the third eyelet from the end broke off. Any recommendations on how I can replace/repair that?

1.Get a razor blade cut the old thread off.
2.Sand the epoxy off the blank.
3.get another guide, buy one the correct size or get off another old rod.
4.Get some rod thread, tape the old guide in place with a small piece of tape and start wrapping.
5. Keep checking the guide for alignment.

Goggle Janns Netcraft for instructions on starting and finishing your thread wraps. Its really easy I can do it but can't explain it.
Just fixed 6 rods for my brother in law.
I seal with rod epoxy but you probably could seal with clear fingernail polish.
Academy sports has eveything you need.
Problem is if you don't have anything you are going to spend $10-$15 for one guide.

Between my son and I we seem to destroy a few here and there. I sure appreciate the help go_okfishin...going to give it a shot tonight..

A few days old but here goes.....

I always replace a guide with heavy duty thread and clear fingernail polish. Never had a problem after a repair job.

Clean off the old thread, and start wrapping the new guide with heavy thread. Near the end, a couple of wrap overs and then coat with the clear fingernail polish.

The first thing I would do, Is try to take your rod eye that fell off and place it back where it goes. OR, if it was no found replace it with a new eye of similar size.

Just push the eye into what is left, and heat it before you do anything is what I would do, I had one of those berkley cherry rods that lost the third eye.... I just pushed it back down to where it went, took a little lighter action to it and ta-da, it's still there.
