I have been working up a load for this gun and seem to have found a good one. I'm loading 23.5gr of H322 and using 55gr Nosler ballistic tips. This is a little hot but when I use less powder my groups start opening up. All groups were .5" or better @ 100 yds with this load. I shot one group at 200yd and it measured .760"

The only thing I've done to the rifle is adjust the trigger and change out the firing pin. The XMark Pro trigger was easily adjusted to 2lb. and feels great. The firing pin was replaced with a Callahan aluminum speedlock firing pin and spring.

This rifle seems to be a shooter and I am very pleased with it. Didn't know if the 20" barrel would hurt accuracy but it shoots good enough for the shooting I do.

Looks good. I really haven't spent a lot of time with the lighter bullets in mine. Mine's happiest with the 68 grain Hornady BTHP and the 69 grain Sierras. The Sierras have produced several groups in the .2s and .3s at 100 yards. Mine only shoots really good in a narrow powder range with H4895 but when I found that range it's done well. The SPS Tactical has a fast enough twist for these heavy bullets. I've seen that I lose a little velocity with the shorter barrel but accuracy doesn't suffer at all. Glad to hear your's is doing well.

You need to try the 69 Sierras if you're looking for a target bullet. Here's two consecutive groups fired when sighting in at 100 yards.

I think I will try some heavier bullets I just had the 55gr. on hand. Do you think the benchrest primers make a difference? I loaded these using Federal 205. They were all I could get my hands on for now. I guess any match is better than no match at all.

The BR4 just happened to what I had handy when loading those. The 205s will probably do just as good in these rifles. I use the 205s in my target rifle and they do just fine.

I have a SPS Tactical in 308win and it is a shooter also. The gun will shoot under .5 moa all day with 168gr NBT's and 46grs of Varget.

What prices are y'all finding the 223 Tactical for?

It'd be nice to have a barrel with a better twist than the 1:12s that I have
