Anyone tried them? Looks like an interesting design. I'm trying to stay away from full-sabot bullets.

Or how about the Harvester Saber-tooth Belted bullets?

I tried some Federal BOR locks a few years ago and my gun just wouldn't group them very well. Several shots actually keyholed. Haven't seen Remington's version.

Thanks slabhead. That's exactly what I was worried about.

I've been a big fan of the ultra-heavy Powerbelts (348 and 405). However, I haven't been able to find those in stock, so I contacted the manufacturer. Unfortunately, they are no longer making anything heavier than 295 grn (which is too light; they break up on impact).

I tried the Thor full-size bullets, and sized them right, but because I'm still using real black powder the barrel was so fouled by the first shot that I couldn't get the second bullet down the barrel without cleaning the whole gun.

A friend used the Sabertooth and went back to the 300gr Harvester Scorpion in a crush rib sabot.

The 300gr Scorpion is a monster bullet.

Thanks Remi.

He had 2 odds with the sabertooth on the same day.

Odd #1

He shot at a small buck standing broadside at about 20yds. Complete miss, zero recoil, odd. Later he found out his bore must have been just big enough that the bullet fell out while walking, muzzle pointed down but the skirt stayed put.

Odd #2

The small buck just stood there while he reloaded and he killed it with Sabertooth #2. The bullet didn't open, which surprised me because it's just plated lead, and the wound path looked like you drove your finger all the way through the deer. Fairly long track but he did recover the buck.

Back to the Harvester Scorpion PT Gold he went.

A sample of one doesn't mean much but it soured him on the Sabertooth. But, if my bullet out I'd have hard feelings too, lol.

I couldn't get the bore locks to group outta 3 Cva setups over blackhorn. The Hornady bore divers shot fantastic and preformed well on meat.
