For the past four or five years I have used a stiff neck scott release. I've toyed with the idea of trying a soft neck but haven't done it yet. Any advice? advantages or disadvantages?

I shoot both , however I went back to the barrel head Scott because I get a better grip on the head while drawing , and I seem to get a more solid anchor with it than the rope or strap style attachment .

I have a tru ball that came with a velcro secure strap of which i despise. I have this habit of needing to readjust the strap and of course with velcro it is too noisy. I removed the strap and replaced it with a buckle type and i really like it. If i were buying a new one it would prb be another tru ball or Scott.

Exactly! I have tried so many releases, and keep finding my way back to a Mongoose! I like gripping the barrel on draw, and like Radr said, the anchor is rock solid. Funny thing is, I bought another Mongoose tonight as another spare for one of my smaller hunting bags.
