Registering a new boat

So my new boat is ready for pick up in Kentucky and curious if I pay the sales tax in Kentucky will I have to pay taxes again in tennessee when I go to register at county clerks office??? I've heard I could skip paying taxes for the hull and then pay the taxes in tennessee when I register it?? Dont want to end up paying taxes twice...Appreciate the help

I bought a boat in Indiana a couple of years back and we paid tax on the sale there and it was based on the TN tax rate. They collected the tax and paid it to TN. We took the paperwork when we registered it to show taxes had been paid.

The tax collection varies from state to state. Not sure how Kentucky works but you will only have to pay sales tax one time.
