Region 1 TWRA dove fields

Went and checked some of the region 1 fiefs this morning. According toe the website they had bush hogged some fields the Friday before last. When I arrived at said fields there were no strips cut at all. One had not been sprayed even. Going to check back the week of the opener to check progress. Aggravating being lied to.

It was probably scheduled to be done but didn't get done because of the recent rain

You know the people in the office that enter stuff on the website do not actually go out to the field to make sure it has been done.

I ventured out last week and the smaller fields were bus hogged but the biggest field wasn't. Put my rubber boots on and took a walk out through the field and its wet. Plants are all dead but the heads had seeds in them. Don't want to bush hog them too early cause then there won't be any seeds for opening day. One week out will give the birds time to find the feed.

Last year some of the leased fields looked to have been picked a month before and the wheat wasn't put down enough to be considered a attempt at harvestable crop. No birds hardly but the private bush hogged cornfield shot all afternoon
