Red Beans and Rice Poll

Do you love them or hate them. I love them, but I'm currently rethinking my relationship with Red Beans if you know what I mean. (I think I just heard a buck snort)

Love RBR at this point in life, no hate yet, but that time has come for really hot peppers. The overall consequences are just not worth the mere satisfaction I get when eating them.

Yea I dried some Creole cooking peppers (Criolla de Cocina) last year. They are awesome.

We love it with Jasmine Rice (the rice in the yellow & white thick plastic bag is by far the best).

Do not know exactly why but most of the red beans we see are old. If I get a new place we going to look into growing our own.

Love some red beans and rice, also love black beans and rice. Granny said change the soak water, bring them to a boil, stop and change that water, and add a little sugar. She said that would fix the backfire situation.

I have heard changing the water helps. I will try that next time.

Lived in Louisiana and got hooked on them. Top with a bit of sour cream and salsa for a change of pace. Good on chili, too.

Red Beans and Rice are like Tamales , if you make em' right , love em' , if not , hate em' but will tolerate them because I paid for them .

Is there any other way? Like pnut butter n jelly, corn flakes n milk, macaroni n cheese. RB&R is wholly incomplete without fried fish.

Staple meal here by itself in south MS... but we load the red beans with smoked sausage during the cooking process.

RBR, gumbo, etouffie, cortbouillion are huge here!
