I love that with some Louisiana hot sauce.
Looks great. My grandparents had a pot of them on the table 2 meals a day when I was growing up, when the pot ran low another pot was cooked, they had 13 kids so I suspect it may have been on the table 3 meals a day at times

Need some diced white onion in there and some hot sauce - good to go!

Love some white beans and cornbread.
I like to toss in some onion.. and just about a half hour before you're going to eat, toss in just a little bit of corn meal. It'll thicken them up a little bit. I also like a little crushed red pepper in them.

My grandmother always added cured ham chunks to them. Pretty much the only way you see them fixed around here.
That looks really good. Been a while since we have had white beans and cornbread. We put chunks of ham in ours too.
Where's the recipe on that mustard baked catfish? Don't mean to hijack thread just never heard of it.

Yep, killing me. I ate quite a few plates of Navy Beans (my Dad called them that, so it must be right).
Did some calculating. Over 2,000 plates. It was my first home cooked meal on returning from Vietnam.
Onion must be white. mebbe 1/2 thick slice. Cornbread has real butter. Ham must have bone.
If you pick through the beans and discard the pieces, rocks, dirt, and otherwise not pretty beans you get no real difference.
