I am in the market for a new bow this year. I will probably look at a used 2013 or 2014 model. Right now, the Elite E32 has made the list on what to try and shoot, etc. I know that a bow is how it fits the person shooting it, etc and no two people are the same and a lot of it now days is personal preference as there are many top of the line bows out there. I would just like to know what I should try before making a purchase or what to stay away from.

I have yet to read a bad thing about the Elites even though I don't know a whole lot about them, yet. I do know that I want to shoot one though.

Pretty much everybody making a good bow now and days. Try to shoot as many as you can. Try not to let the brand sticker on the bow influence you let the bow do that. Don't think you have to drop $1400 just to get a good setup. If you already got shootable arrows take a few with you, as most want to see the speed or let the speed influence their decision. Big difference between 360 gr arrow and 420 gr so if you got yours with ya then better results. And shop around plenty of last years stuff out there and people selling them off for the newest and latest.

I have an E32 and E35....probably won't have the E35 much longer due to upgrading to the Elite Victory--Elite makes awesome bows. That being said, a lot of quality bows are out there right now, so I would shoot as many different ones as you could. I am not a fan of Bowtech because of their history with limb problems and well-known bad/slow customer service. Elite, Hoyt, Prime, Mathews, PSE and New Breed would be the ones I would try to shoot if possible. One thing to consider, especially with these up and coming companies like Prime, New Breed, Elite, etc... is finding a dealer close to you if you should need them.

I agree with all of the above and definitely won't let the brand influence me as there are a bunch out there. That is why I ask. :) I guess a better way for me to word my question is what are you shooting? Pros? Cons? There are a ton of used bows out there so just trying to narrow a little bit on specific models that I should definitely try or stay away from.

Do not get brand specific.
Find out what bows feel the best to you by shooting them. Let the bow pick you,,not you pick the bow.
Check out all the specs of the bow you are shooting to be sure they match your requirments.
Get the bow properly fitted. I see way too many people getting talked into off the rack bows that are too long for them.
Get the bow properly tuned.
Pick your accessories carefully and wisley to match your shooting/hunting needs.

Finally shoot as many as you can. If your local bow shop knows your serious about buying a bow they should be patient with you and let you try as many bows as possible. If not. Find another bow shop.

I did the same thing last year. Shot every make/model available in our area. Ended up buying a Mathews ChillR, which wasn't even on my list of bows or brands I was interested in initially. Go shoot everything available in our area and you will find the bow that you just have to own.
