Like to find a good yet somewhat inexpensive rangefinder for archery...that has the angle compensation to it...any help would be greatly appreciated

The Halo rangefinder from Wildgame Innovations is a decent one for the money. My brother has one and it does what he needs it to do, however it does not have an angle compensation feature. The angle compensators are not worth the extra money you are going to pay for the feature, unless you are shooting at very extreme angles, (i.e. a deer literally underneath you which is an ill-advised shot anyway with a bow). For 99% of the shots you will make there will only be a difference of a couple of yards. For example, fifteen feet high and fifteen feet away, your aimpoint difference is two yards which equates to the arrow impacting roughly 1/4" higher than the aimpoint.

I looked at the wildlife innovations rangefinder at bps when they were on sale for 129. It has the angle compensation and its cheap, but to me I thought that it wasnt worth the money... I believe that you get what you pay for and the key word here is cheap! I'd rather spend a few bucks more and get a higher quality brand.

The angle compensation is an expensive gimmick for bow hunting unless you are shooting straight up or down a mountain.

i agree with west tn, it does help having the angle comp. when you need it. i have the nikon hunter rangefinder with the angel comp. and i absolutley love it. i hunt real tall ridges and ravines up around paris tn. and this thing works great. jmo
