What was that falling from the sky last night?? 1/2 inch on the 11th another 1/2 inch last night has made the summer blends pop that was planted before the 11th. Now all we need is a couple more inches this week and next to maybe weather another mini drought.

1.6in past 24h on my places.

I was really worried, having seeded and fertilized Memorial day weekend... Then no rain for 10d, got .2in, then no rain until now.

But friend went and checked plots 5d ago, got great germination despite the drought, beans were already 6in tall. A little more weed competition that I would like however. Used roundup and 24d for burndown prior to planting.

I broadcast some buckwheat yesterday into a plot that I had previously drilled. Hopefully with this rain it will help fill in.

Forecast models look good for rain across TN the next 10 days. Most models suggest an inch to two inches over that time period.

We got 1.31" on the 11th and 0.51" last night. Very, very helpful. Can't wait to see what kind of germination I'm getting (broadcast seed the 9th).
Our farms aren't that far apart. On the 11th I watched radar showing Waverly and mcewen getting pounded but the majority missed Tn City. Just hoping for some good steady rain the next few days.

These showers are so tiny, I was on a 3,500 club property and got poured on. Got back to my truck at the other end of the property and it was dry as a bone.

Finally! We hadn't had rain in two weeks, and with the extreme temperatures we're experiencing, I was worried about my food plots. But it's finally pouring now. Over an inch in two hours. Yes!

Going to go pick blackberries Monday. Hope more are ripe. Probably 1 in 10 ripe a week ago Friday. This rain should help.

How much have you gotten this week? I've not had a chance to check. Going tomorrow to spray plots cause I didn't want to stress any of new growth on the chuffa

Our plots look surprisingly pretty well. The rain has helped them bounce back. Got some spraying to do in clover but other then that thankful.

That will help! We only got 0.14"

But lots more chances over the next week or so.
Tallied up June and we only got 1.98" but May was over 12". 1.80" of Junes came the 10 days after I planted so should be good.

We got virtually nothing in May. We went four weeks without a drop. Then we got 2.56" in June, starting the 11th. We have 1.41" so far in July, and at least the 1st half of July looks like it will be quite wet.

Planted Memorial Day weekend... no rain for 2 weeks after that.
50lbs forage beans/ 3lbs buckwheat/ 3lbs pearl millet/ 3lbs milo per acre. Decent rain second half of June until now. Most of my plots look like this...

From a distance, it looks great, but there is a lot of grass and weed competition due to no rain for 2 weeks. There's plenty of the good stuff mixed in (beans and buckwheat), but they are a little behind where they should be. Lots of feeding on the beans.

Same blend. Same drill depth setting... for whatever reason, this particular plot had very little weed competition, but the milo and millet are too thick for the beans to compete

My clover plot (now mostly volunteer clover) that I haven't spent a dime on other than bushhogging and just drilling thru it in the fall with a blend of wheat/ radishes/ Balansa clover (no herbicides) is doing great again this year
