I have rabbit hunted with beagles since I could walk. Dad always kept a bunch of dogs. Now I keep a few and a friend keeps a few. It's definitely gotten harder finding brush to hunt and with deer hunting popularity but we still go at it from about December to end of February.

Used to many years ago. My father and grandfather raised beagles, had 19 at one time. It's odd but I have seen more rabbits in my back yard than in the woods and field. Never seen a bunny when deer hunting or squirrel hunting or even walking to a fishing spot.

I rabbit hunt quiet a bit.I have 4 running dogs and two 3 month old pups.I agree hard to find places to hunt.especially till after deer season.

I used to years ago. We always had beagles and I loved them. I got to where I didn't have time for them so I sold them and kept my old dog till he kicked the bucket. I miss it sometimes but they take time and attention

I keep a pair of beagles. I've been rabbit hunting as long as I can remember. Fixing to start hitting it hard and heavy since deer season is closing. Yes it is hard finding places now days. I remember when I was a kid you would see rabbit hunters all the time on the side of the roads. I think we are a dying bread now.

Rabbits seem to be increasing in numbers on my farm this year. I've seen a fair number just walking around whereas for a good number of years I'd hardly see any. I've never seriously hunted them with dogs but used to as a kid with my cousin. We took turns being the dog when we'd get to brush piles. :)

Growing up we hunted with beagles. I hunted with beagles till 1982 when I lost "Queeny" to a freak accident. Haven't hunted rabbits since. I still get misty eyed when I hear or see a pack of hounds working a trail. Even that long ago, it was getting hard to find a place to hunt without our dogs running onto properties where sometimes they would be in danger of getting shot, rune over, or fights with other dogs. But I would like to go just one more time for the memories.

Know what you mean.

I've usually keep beagles but don't have any right now. I know how hard it is to find a place. If any of you guys would like to run your dogs I've got a pretty good place . Hard to kill them but good place to run. Send me a PM if interested. I'm in East Tn

I don't have my own dogs but a buddy has a group of beagles we run every weekend starting at close of deer. We run all my spots and usually do good.

Question: what's the best way to cook rabbit? What is everyone's favorite? I haven't found a way that I really care for more than one or so a season.

Season flour with garlic, black pepper and salt.egg/milk the rabbit drag through the flour. fry in lard and enjoy.

Growing up, my neighbor had a big pack of beagles. I used to love going out rabbit hunting. It's been a long time since I've been, I would love to hear the dogs run a rabbit.

My dad had great dogs I haven't been since he passed 14 years ago .I miss them hunting days .nothing better

I kept beagles for years and would have blast rabbit hunting after deer season. I have not had in any years. Good to see some are still going at it.

buddy has a few and we go couple times a year on my lease. went yesterday, jumped and killed 3 within the first hour then turned off like a switch. did kick 6 snipe up though . managed 2

Heat up a cast iron skillet to medium/high heat pour in just enough olive oil to coat the bottom

Cover legs with flower then
Dip into a egg wash
Remove from egg wash dip into a mixture of Italian breadcrumbs and grated parmesan cheese. Make sure they are covered. When the skillet is ready, begin frying the rabbit until you have a nice crust on each side. I like to then put them in a 325-350 oven until they're finished but you can also fry them the whole way.
