Went on a rabbit hunt with 2 buddies today. No dogs but was able to jump 7 and got 4. It was a fun hunt that reminded us of when we were kids. We even had a mid morning breakfast at the turn.

My very first ever trip of hunting was a rabbit hunt when I was 4 yrs old
on a Thanksgiving Morning.
Several rabbits were taken that morning, and I was hooked on hunting for life.

Long before I was 12 and went on my first deer hunt,
I had become an avid hunter of all sorts of small game.

So it all started for me with rabbit hunting,
as went on several rabbit hunts before going to squirrel, dove, ducks, etc.

There was a period of time from @ Age 12 to 20 when my Grandfather and two school-teacher mentors set me up and helped train my "bird" dogs. For maybe @ 8 yrs, I spent most my hunting time looking for "birds" (quail), and was fortunate to have 3 very experienced, accomplished bird-dog trainers/hunters to teach me.

I was very hopeful we would flush a covey of quail up. That would've been icing on the cake.
