Just to make sure..... I have a Sportsman license already.... so to be legal, I would need to add a Duck stamp to hunt Geese? Correct?

Make sure you have the migratory bird add on to your Sportsman License as well. But you do have to have the Fed Duck stamp to hunt any waterfowl.

Fed stamp, yes. Migratory bird permit is not required for Sportsman License holders (p. 11 of the Hunting Guide).

and then right under that is the type007 migratory bird permit for no fee only available to sportsmans license holders. so, is it required or not?

Well, stik, I didn't see that. I think that I know the answer, but I believe that I should wait for scn to clear this up. :-)

when I bought the sportsman license, I had to remind the clerks to put it on it, otherwise I didn't have it.

The Hunting Guide is incorrect. The Migratory Bird Permit is still required for an annual Sportsman License holder. It is the Type 007 available at no cost for the holder of the type 004 Annual Sportsman License.

The Lifetime Sportsman License holder is exempt from the permit.
