Personally I like the M44 carbines. Very fun to shoot, they will throw a flame out the barrel about three feet. I have a Polish, Russian and Chineese. Am wanting a Hungarian next, they usually have a nice grey patina to them. The Polish ones are considered the highest quality. For 69.00 you will get a run of the mill WWII era 91/30, nothing special. Consider finding an earlier 91/30 with hex reciever if you want a 91/30. As stated before the finn models are considered higher quality also. There are lots of forums dedicated to Mosins as well as other mil-surps. Surplusrifleforum.com is my favorite but also look at 7.62x54r.net and gunboards.com. If you are just looking for a shooter spend the 69.00 and get a 91/30. If you are wanting something that will appreciate in value educate yourself on those websites as there are lots of cool models and variations out there. Be careful though you wont stop at just one. Then comes the C&R license and before you know it another safe.
