Hunting my grandfather's place is always sentimental, the deer here in this part of East TN aren't exactly wall hangers but I've been hunting this property since I was too small to carry my own gun. So many memories have been made in these woods and the good Lord blessed us to make another one today
Snuck out for a Friday morning hunt, being a small business owner sometimes I'm able to squeeze these hunts in when others are at the office. I took an close friend and employee with me. After texting him at 930 to tell him we had to leave at 10 bc of an appointment I was suppose to make. This 8 point buck comes cruising down the trail at 9:58! One shot from the trusty 50 cal muzzleloader and he drops like a bag of hammers. He had been rubbing trees and tarsal glands were full of tar. Looked bigger from the tree, but don't they always?
