I take all my garden refuse and pile it in a corner of my garden. This year it included a couple of pumpkins. I stirred everything up tilled it under and all of a sudden I have 10 volunteer plants. Thought what the heck, made a row and five are doing fine.

If I remember right it's early for them right? Think I will get anything out of them?

Yep, early....a farmer near my house grows them every year, I saw he prepped his rows about a week ago. Not to say they wont do good though.

Not a pumpkin grower, but I've always heard for a October harvest planting should be late June/early July.

usually run around 100-115 days. They don't last long, try and have em come in early to mid Oct.

They will be fine.. i think june 24 th is the usual plant date but yours will be fine... they last forever if kept cool and dry.. my wifes grandmother kept one from october till about may the next year in her basement before she cooked it..
