What experiences have you guys had with the processors near Knoxville/east Tn. Im looking for somewhere that makes link sausage and it seems everyone only makes ground. I wasn't impressed with adams last year.

If it helps, i called a ton of places before coming here from help. Was hoping maybe someone knew of a hidden gem.

I looked into this myself when I moved here. From what I gathered, either the processor doesn't give you sufficient meat for the size deer you bring in, you straight up don't get your deer, you get random someone else's meat, or they're way over priced. I have always done my own as long as it's cool enough out to not have flies biting you while skinning the deer. If you kill enough deer every year, it's worth the investment in vacuum sealer and a meat grinder. With the inconsistency in processors around here, it'd be worth it to get your own deer done free

Unfortunately i do not have that kind of space at the moment because i live in an apartment. I should be in a house by next hunting season, but still need somewhere to take it this year.

Rick Hill deer processing
695 smith valley road
Lenior city, TN
They do sausage and deer sticks

Rick Hill has some of the best summer sausage and snack sticks I've ever had. Jalapeño and cheese injected but it is HIGH DOLLAR. He also does not freeze the meat before you pick it up so his coolers stink like none other. My truck smelled like raw meat for a week after I picked it up. I will not take another one to him unless I have the whole thing cut up into the sausage and snack sticks which I have done but it about broke the bank but worth it as far as taste goes.

As far as just a normal processing I take mine to Joe Lane in Mossy grove in Morgan county. Its a long haul but he is the best and cleanest place I've ever been to. I heard he is/has retired and was going to lease it out this year but I'm not 100% on that.

Ain't there a place off riverside drive right of neyland that does it?? My boss killed a doe last year and took it there. I wanna say he had some novelty type stuff done but ain't for sure.

I don't understand how that Adams place stays in business. I've never heard of anyone who was a repeat customer. Myself included.

Have heard of a place in the Powell area, but don't know the name. Another member of our lease takes his there, I think. I will try to get the name and post it.
