I will be hunting east of Murfreesboro for muzzy and was looking for a good processor. Im hunting near lasscassas if this helps.thanks
 
I have used processors from Memphis to Lebanon. Potts is by far the best I have ever used. The summer sausage and snack sticks are excellent. If you need help, I live in Lascassas.
 
C&K is half way to Franklin off 840. Excellent job on the beef we have taken them and I have heard they get high marks on deer.

C&F is close too, and I have heard good things, but I went in to ask what they charge and from what I remember it is high.
 
I forgot to mention. There was a guy on here last year that signed up and started plugging his home deer processing business.

It is in Readyville off Maury Kittrel Rd. I took a deer to him to donate to the local needy families last season. He is literally running it out of his small garage/outbuilding. His prices were reasonable, but if you are looking for a FDA/OSHA butcher shop or big operation I don't know if this is for you.

He had some summer sausage that he had made with Pepper jack cheese in it and it was delicious.

The name was All in One and his # was 615-542-9397. I'm putting that on here, because I doubt you can look him up, he was just starting up.

Basic processing charge is $65. If you want summer sausage or snack sticks (I highly recommend) that is extra. I believe in the $5/pound range but don't quote me on that.

I have been using them for many years and they are hands down the best in the area that I know of.

My lease is in Lebanon and I live in Murfreesboro. It would be easier to go to Lebanon locker for me but I made that mistake once and never again with Lebanon Locker. High prices, low yield, and not vacuum sealed like Pott's.
 
I take mine to Flowers in Nashville and I also live in Lascassas. Its farther, that Potts, but I work downtown so its easy for me to pick it up when its ready.

I have a farm on Rocky Hill road in Lascassas. If any of you guys are hunting near me let me know. It would be good to be able to share some stories and information with folks who hunt close by.

I used to live on Holly Grove Rd and I have several friends that live on Rocky Hill. Some very nice buck travel that area. Good luck this year
 
Take 24 east and get off at the beech grove exit. Turn right and go about 5 miles or so and there's a Potts sign on the left. Turn there and its down about a mile on your left. The one we had done last year in all summer sausage and snack sticks was over $300 but worth it. The one I took Saturday is being divided by three of us.

Somebody mentioned C&F on hwy 96. A buddy took one there last weekend and said its $80 for the basic cut. I was told not to go there but have no first hand experience.
 
C&F is fine but they are high. C&F has a "deer club" that is very high. You pay $140 up front and you get $10 off the processing cost per deer and you get an access code that allows you to drop off deer in the refrigerated trailer out back after hours.
 
I called C&F to get their costs since they are closest to me. I'm glad I did that before heading over there with a deer. $85 for basic and that does NOT include vacuum sealing! If you want vacuum packaging, it's an additional 29 cents per pound dressed weight. I had a100 pound doe so that would have been almost $115 for a basic cut in vacuum bags. I drove it up to Flowers where I've always been pleased. $75 for basic which includes vacuum packaging and 25 pounds of some of the best summer sausage for an additional $40. They also do breakfast, Italian, polish as well. Plus bologna and sticks and a whole variety of options. You need to understand that you have to buy 25 lbs worth. For summer sausage they use 20 lbs of venison and add 5 lbs of pork/pork fat. Also understand they have a scale of spicyness from 1-5. I get it done at 3, spicy but not so much you breathe fire. They are currently taking deer donations for the hungry and you pay zero for the processing. That is good for 150 deer, when that quota is met they will charge you $50 to donate your deer. I've tried a half dozen places in the area, Flowers is the most professional and offers the widest variety of options. But I would try Potts if I was a little closer.

I like ol Fred at C&F, but he was 65 dollars about twenty years ago, which was higher than just about anyone then too. Last deer I took to him was about 2001.

The funny thing that turned me away eventually was that he wouldn't do any custom cutting of deer and he explained why to me in great detail one afternoon. He would only offer...
