What do you like to see for weather this time of year? For some reason I usually see the most chasing with highs in the low 50s and lows in the 30s.

Last year in my neck of the woods "perfect weather" was nearly every day from Holloween until December 10th but according to my journal and cam pics it was absolutely as dead as an anvil.

I look more at historical rut dates vs. weather. The rut predictably happens within a few days from one year to the next, from region to region. Weather may influence what we hunters SEE from year-to-year but without fail, fawns show up like clockwork in the summer regardless of whether we actually SEE the rut or not.

It might move up a tiny bit due to aggresive regional doe harvest but not appreciably over a short period of time...at least that I have seen.

Excellent point BW... I expect mature deer on there feet about thanksgiving but understand warm weather can shut down daylight movement drastically.

people get really excited when they see deer hasi, but mature deer wait until the 4th quarter it seems. despite all the ativity now, Tgiving will be when the bulk of the fully mature deer, will be hitting the ground.

Agreed where I hunt.

On my property, weather doesn't really matter for observed rutting activity, unless the daytime temps start pushing into the 70s. That shuts down daylight activity completely.

Now ON AVERAGE, colder temps increase daylight activity, but that's only on average. We've had great days when the temps are in the 60s and terrible days on perfect frosty mornings.

In fact, here is a graph of our morning hunt buck sighting rates during the rut month of November based on morning low temperature. Noticed that the trend line (solid red line) is downward as morning low temperature increases, but we've still had good hunting at some fairly warm morning low temperatures, and some poor sighting rates for cold low temperatures:
