I got this piece from a guy who said he dug it up at the same place he was digging Civil War relics. He had it in with some dug bullet but didn't know what it was. He thought it depicted a cartoon character. I'm pretty sure it is a depiction of Abe Lincoln, but don't know what it was used for. On the back there is a braze spot at about 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock, on the outside edge of the two rings. It has a lot of green tarnish build up, so maybe it is brass or copper. It has 4 stars on the hatband and 5 stars just below the shirt collar. Any idea what this is/was? If it was Cival War era, what kind of value might it have?
