Polaris 800 EFI

Question, I'm in the market for another atv. I found one that I'm interested in , Its a 2006 Polaris 800 EFI low miles 631 ran perfect when shut down, now get this "It was shut down FIVE years ago". It will start up with starting fluid but cuts off and will not run. What can or should I do ? Is it a simple solution of just clean the fuel system or could it be something more serious and costly. The price is$4250.00 but labor cost adds up not including part.

It likely is just something in the fuel system and probably wouldn't be that tough to get going, but you would also have to worry about leaks popping up due to dry seals and gaskets. That seems awfully high for a 12 year old machine that doesn't run.

Yep, thats what my thoughts were too. Afraid more issues might occur due to it setting so long. The guy actually has a 700 for sale too same deal though been setting for 5 years. They do look like new , 72 year old man owns them very nice guy with medical problems and can't ride no more. Sad story. If I knew I wasn't buying a 4250.00 parts bike I'd pick it up tomorrow.

No doubt. At 3000 it would probably spark my interest

They always ran perfect before being stored. There is a reason it sat for 5 years and not because it was running perfect. Not good in my opinion.

My advice: Buy a used Honda to avoid regrets.
